Frequently Asked Questions

The standard massage session is 60 minutes, but we also offer 90-minute and 120-minute sessions.

You may undress to your comfort level or stay fully clothed.  Proper draping techniques are incorporated using a sheet or towel to maintain your privacy.

No. Excessive pain often activates the sympathetic nervous system, increasing muscle guarding and reducing the effectiveness of treatment.

Therapeutic pressure should feel intentional and tolerable. Discomfort that triggers guarding, holding your breath, or emotional distress is not necessary for effective results.

Yes. A licensed therapist should be able to explain techniques, goals, and adjustments in clear, professional language.

Absolutely. Client feedback is essential for safe and effective care.

Massage influences the autonomic nervous system. When sessions support parasympathetic activation (rest-and-restore), muscles release more effectively and pain patterns can shift.

Ignored boundaries, poor draping, dismissed discomfort, unexplained techniques, or behavior that feels inappropriate or unsafe.

This work prioritizes nervous system regulation, informed consent, and evidence-based techniques to support sustainable healing rather than forced results.
